Sorry I have been MIA for so long I have been having a rough go. It just got worse. I just found out my last landlord sold my scoots before I could get them. Not sure if it was legal for him to do so yet. My mint red 85 Aero 80 is gone and my 84 Canada blue spree dio is also gone. There were no keys for either so if anyone here in Nova Scotia comes looking for missing keys please PM me right away. The scoots are registered, plated in my name.

I don't know about Nova Scotia's laws, but here in America, you can't do that. It would be the same as selling someone's car or motorcycle. Legally, you could have it towed or impounded, but as a landlord, you have no right to sell that property without a judgement from the courts. I'd report them as stolen property and have charges brought up on the landlord.

Contact your ex-landlord...find out WHO he sold them to. Re-claim them with the help of the authorities.

Hi pat. Wow that is fup. I would definitely report the scooter stolen so no one can register them. Contact the landlord have him get the scooters back or you going to press charges. See if you can put a lien on his property? Until scooters are return. GL pat.

Dang......

You can certainly press charges against the landlord, as he solely acted on your behalf to sell these bikes. He must have offered some sort of receipt and/ or potential paperwork to facilitate this sale and I'd think that's some sort of fraud, as you provided him with no authorization to act an any type of selling agent on your behalf. Make a Police Report immediately.

This post is a week old now....is there an update?

It sure sounds like the landlord stole your bike, but is there more to this story that isn't told?? My father was a landlord and people would just not pay there rent and walk away and leaving all their belongings behind and disappear. So as a landlord who stores all this unwanted stuff and where? Not saying this is your case?

In my state, even of the landlord has to store the items there not allowed to throw them away or sell them, they have to store the stuff but are allowed to charge storage. But not holding said items hostage. My family used to have some rentals. Pain in the * sometimes.
