Elite SE50's are somewhat rare. Those with 10.243:1 gears are the one's folks look for.

In a surprising email, an old time member sent me input that in his experience, the unrestricted SE50 model does not contain the 10:1 gears, the 30mph limited 'Moped' SE50P A model does.

The Service manual and Parts Fiche have always been in conflict. The site's wiki gear table assigned the 'fast gears' to the unrestricted SE50.

Purpose of the poll is to get further input from members who've sourced the 10:1 gear set.

Yea it's hard to believe that the 10:1's would be in a scooter only made to hit 30 mph (Iowa Elite). I've read elsewhere that the se50 had the 10:1 gears and se50p has the 11:1's. http://www.motorscooterguide.net/Honda/ ... eSE50.html

Ive have a few se50p's and wondered the same thing. I have cross-referenced part #'s on sites such as partzilla and have found that the se50p has the 13T drive shaft. Ive actually taken apart the transmission case to count the teeth on the drive shaft and I can confirm that the se50p has the 13T drive shaft. Ive also checked the gear ratio by setting the valve stem at 12'oclock and spinning the clutch around till the valve stem made a full rotation and it seems closer to a 10:1 ratio vs a 11:1 .
