I bought this scooter a few weeks ago and it was missing a few things and in generally in pretty poor condition. The rear wheel was gone in fact it looked like the wheel was welded on then removed with a chisel and grinder. The original wheel was not included in the purchase. I was missing the starter, belt cover/ Kickstarter and a few other odds and ends (rear plastic, air filter, other non essentials). After a few weeks of waiting on parts I was able to take my first ride today. Despite there being 8ÔÇØ of snow on the ground and my driveway is a sheet of ice, I must say it was quite a pleasure. I had no rear breaks, the throttle sticks a bit and the front wheel just lock up on the ice but I was able to keep it up right. Anyway I need to give a big shout out to this forum and the community here. This is my first scooter and I was able to find the repair manual and a few parts here. Big thanks!

In case your wondering how much I spent on such a beautiful machine. Well I have more money into the 9 screws that hold the side cover on than I do into the purchase of the whole scooter.

Awesome find! Those are rare, especially if the speedometer says it goes 45 mph. Go-fast parts are not so easily found for this particular motor but there are places you can find them.
Glad to hear that it runs and rides! Mad props for your bravery riding it in the icy conditions! Keep looking around for info and for parts. Unfortunately, that model was only produced for US market in 1987. Check out the reference guide at: http://www.motorscooterguide.net/Honda/ ... eSE50.html
Good luck and Welcome to the forum!

Thanks Bonesv. The speedo does go all the way up to 45. It doesnÔÇÖt currently work since the cable is long gone but IÔÇÖm not planning on going too fast. I plan to mostly drive it around the country roads around my house and IÔÇÖll probably take it camping for crusing around the campground.

I've always liked the look of the '87. Sleek lines and nice big front pocket. Go fast parts a little harder to find than the 94-01s, but findable.
