What kind of bottom feeder casino site trolls scooter forums for members? Isnt there a knitting forum or kite flyers chat room you can try? Maybe the Albino-Midget-Sky Diving Elvis-Left Handed-Water Polo forum? I hear those guys LOVE internet casinos.

No joke. I'm working through it now. The phpBB version is completely out of date; issue I ran into last time was that there's been enough mods to board I can't get them unwound and site updated. Taking another run at it this week.

There was a program I used once, I don't recall the name right off hand, but what it did, is it allowed me to vanilla the board, then I used the vanilla base to convert to a newer version, then reinstalled all MODS after that. If I remember correctly, you can download it from phpbb. How it worked, is it only took SQL data that is used on the vanilla and converted it to a new forum, leaving out all SQL from the old one, thus giving you a fresh board with all posts still intact. I then created a new SQL database with a subforum that had the fresh software and old posts on it and did all my mods there, once I was happy with it, I renamed the sub forum and old forum directories so that the new updated forum was live, once everyone confirmed it was working the way it should, I removed the old forum, zipped it up, and stuck it on a CD for archiving or in case I needed it ever again. Still have it around here somewhere in one of my cd boxes. It's a heavily modified version of PhPBB2 from way back in like 2006.

Yeah, I've multiple prior versions of board squirreled away on local hard drives. I actually need to go through and delete some of them, just save the most recent.

This board is phpBB 3.0.12. I've tried upgrading straight to 3.2.2 and it's failed each time, so (right now) I'm trying 3.0.12 --> 3.1.12 --> 3.2.2. I've had to install WAMP and do all the conversions locally b/c the SQL database is over 400 megs (cleaned) and running the upgrade straight through host is breaking. Bottom line is phpBB is being a complete PIA and upgrading it is always a hassle.

I'm seriously considering moving whole board to vBulletin with hosting. They run the upgrades automatically and moves this entire headache with hosting plans off my plate (keep in mind GoDaddy erased the entire board unannounced this spring and I had to run this entire build process then as well.)

BTW this is now the official board upgrade thread. I'll be posting a demo version of updated board on another hosting plan and URL sometime in the next 24 hrs or so to feature test.

How can you see most recent posts regardless of topic? Youd have to open each topic to look? The ÔÇ£view active topicsÔÇØ button on this forum is all I use to see recent activity.

It's here. The updated board actually has a lot more features for average user... including drag and drop photos.

Prosilver based themes are easier to work with when it comes to scaling too. In subsliver a huge image will take up the whole screen, but with the update, a huge image will be scaled to fit the pixel resolution set in the .css and templates. Here is a 1080p screen cap to see the difference. Only thing I don't like is the profiles on the right. I prefer them on the left, this is actually real easy to fix.

Yeah, noting pro silver is adapting to tablet and iPhone view cleanly. Much improved.

Yes, super easy to navigate on a phone or tablet. More room when you rotate to landscape too. It was one of the improvements they made that I really like. It's dynamic .CSS so it auto sizes based on resolution
