I've been putting together an 84 Aero 80 and have searched diligently but have not found the answer. Does anything plug into the other end of the fan air tube?

No clues given in the parts fiche.
Seems counter-productive unless it was routed to provide cooling to the CVT case.
For example, the Aero 125 has a fresh-air intake on the CVT case as does the Elite 80.
However, parts fiche shows no inlet on CVT cover, nor does there appear to be any duct hose routed to airbox.
My best guess is it's purpose is to create air movement in the engine compartment for overall better cooling.
Only another Aero 80 owner will have a better answer.

Thank for your time and explaination. Possibly another owner will reply but the micro fiche diagrams would probably be correct.

I had an old gyro x that had the same shape and size of a tube as that and was facing the rear but it was for the air box intake. It strange that it is on the fan side unless there is no other inlet, then it makes sense. Your pic does not show the entire fan shroud.

Ok then it must have to do with the thermal choke system. It feeds hot air to the area around the element to keep the enrichment bypassed.
