On facebook marketplace a guy has an ad for a 1988 elite. Something doesn't look right. It almost looks like a spree backend mounted on a elite frame?

Am I crazy or did someone put leftovers from a spree swap together to sell to some sucker?

that looks like an express carburetor also. I don't think sprees or elites had the oil injector going to the carb. it went to the manifold. that's a spree motor. you can tell by the cvt cover. 85 variated af05e was only year without kick starter. and it isn't smooth in the front. has a kick out to clear variator.

That's a replacement China carb for an Elite engine (per the ad). Def'n a 1-speed Spree block. That would be a very slow bike... all the weight of an Elite with the power of the Spree... truly an awesome vision. Or, more likely, whatever scooter trash he had lying around to build a running bike. Sounds like seller didn't know what he bought. Also looks like an 1987 SE50...

For $162 though there's probably a straight fork and about 1/2 of the bodywork for another bike...
