I picked up a Honda NB 50g here in Texas. Seller told me that it worked fine then he added oil and it would not start. sold it to me for parts.
Do i need to purge the motor oil from the engine/oil pump? if so is there a link or procedure for this operation?. i have disassembled the scooter to clean and degrease it. any help would be appreciated

There is a help section in this forum, it has service manuals and how-to's plus other information http://hondaspree.net/wiki/index.php5?title=Main_Page
I would say yes, purge entire oil line/pump all the way to the intake manifold and prime the oil pump and entire line to the manifold with 2 stroke oil before starting it. There is a chance the motor was running when the prev owner realized the wrong oil was not doing the job? I would perform a compression test on the cylinder but add a few drops of 2 stroke oil in to the spark plug hole before manual kickstart then hold throttle wide open during the 6-8 cycles of manual start. Should be a minimum 100 psi but better if it's above 120 psi. A low reading could mean more testing/looking into the cause. The carburetor may just need cleaning to get a start up. Also, the fuel tends to evaporate when sitting a long time so it may need 20-25 kicks to refill the bowl with fuel. The carburetor has an electric bystarter which will provide minimum fuel on a cold start but only if the bowl is filled so no need to open the throttle until it begins to warm up. The air box will need to be installed with a properly oiled air filter in place and cover installed. Check the vacuum hose and fuel hose for leaks which can cause difficulty also. Let us know how you are doing on this and if you get it running :thumbwink:

Motor oil by itself wouldn't likely kill the engine in near term. There's an article in the wiki about barn-find scooters; read that for my thoughts on how to determine what's wrong and what it needs. http://hondaspree.net/wiki/index.php5/G ... n_the_Road
And yes, all mystery oil needs purged out b/f you try getting it on road again.
