Anybody else order the new pulley from SSS?

The place to discuss rides, accessories, or whatever is tangentially Spree/Elite-related

Anybody else order the new pulley from SSS?

Post by eclark5483 »

I'm going to try it on my 87' with the 12T gears and Joe Daniels' ported BBK and compare it to the 86' that has Marc's 15:81 gears and BBK. Both are using Marc's intake adapter with Brandon's Polini kits.

Pulley can be found here:

I'm surprised Brandon hasn't came along already and spammed out the link himself. Looks promising.. Maybe I might get crazy and see what happens if I combine Marc's gears with Brandon's pulley. Bet I'd need a push start, but I bet it would go past 60mph. Just guessing, nothing to show to back that up. Would like to see someone try and post results. That would be cool.

I have one on the way, I will be installing it on one of my stock spree's. I will let you know the results after I test it out.

I just recently got my '85 spree. I think something might be wrong with it (it tops out at 25 mph). Does anyone think this mod would still be worth it?

If it tops out at 25, there ain't nothing wrong with it. It's a Spree, that's normal.

I honestly, can't answer that. 1. I just got my pulley in, haven't put it in yet to compare. 2. Both of my Sprees have BBK's and Intake adapters with 17mm Polini carbs. Mine with this pulley/15:81 gears, would react much different then a Spree using stock components.
