Are these Factory 1986 Honda Spree Accessories?

Post by zackman2091 »

So I just picked up a 1986 honda spree with 1900 miles on it for 700 bucks. The guy that sold it to me had a couple accessories with it but I am not sure if they are factory or not. The basket doesn't exactly line up on the front. The gentleman didn't have the hardware for the rear storage bin and the seat cover seems legit but I'm not 100% sure on that. Let me know what you guys think

The front basket mount looks homemade, and the basket is not a factory accessory Spree front basket. The basket itself may be a factory accessory rear basket. The factory accessory front basket mount is a chrome piece that uses all three mounting points. The front basket is smaller than what you have and the front has "loops" across the top of it. The rear luggage box might be a factory piece, if so, it is fairly rare.

Have a look at this:

Unfortunately, it is hard to see clearly, the front basket or basket mount from the picture at the bottom of that page.

I think this photo shows the correct front basket mount, and I think also the correct front basket:

I agree. Basket and seat cover are aftermarket, trunk MIGHT BE authentic. Post some up close images of it if you can. I'm in the market for a good trunk in excellent condition with keys, if that's what you have, I might make you an offer.

Here is a picture of the seat cover and rear bin. I do not have keys for the bin.

Trunk IS a Honda original. Too bad you don't have a key.

Did some research tonight and looks like it's all factory parts. This photo is from the 1987 Hondaline accessory brochure

Could be. If so, then looks like you need to hunt down an original mount. Shouldn't be too hard to find one.
