Honda Spree and Elite 50 Forums

What’s the closest spray paint color for matching the oem Honda Red used on the Spree?

Honda bikes are almost a pure red... fire engine red.
I had good results with Krylon Fusion "red" matching Spree and Elite SE50s... over 10 years ago. Current color is called Pepper Red and is probably same/close. Fusion stuck well to panels; make sure to prep them first per directions. I used a professional grade paint prep from autobody supply. YMMV.

1984: Sparkling Red (USA only), Cortina White, Vista Blue (Canada only)
1985: Sparkling Red, Black
1986: Sparkling Red, Black, Shasta White / Lollipop Green (only available on ‘Special’ version)
1987: Sparkling Red, Black, Kriti Blue

Thanks! Went with Gloss Pepper Red from Krylon and it looks pretty close. Ended up repainting all the plastics in this color. Can’t attach pictures for whatever reason. Otherwise might be good for reference to have some posted with spray paint color.

All that said, if you use krylon gloss after, make sure the outside temps aren’t above 80 or you’ll get instant heavy orange peeling and have to redo it all.

I'm just Brivander here though have to admit, I wasn't sure when you picked the color, I was wrong, it looks REALLY good!!!

If you need a petcock cover I reproduce them as well, reach out to me here instead of eBay and I will sell to members here cheaper.

Thanks, probably could have used a finer grit on a few spots before painting but I got lazy after having to sand off the clear coat and redo the top parts.

Now it just needs oem grips again (aftermarket sticks the throttle), petcock cover, would be great to get a floor mat but those are very hard to find, and a battery cover. If I had the software and machine/know how I’d just scan the other one I have and print the battery cover.
