What if you don't have an ethanol free option? Is 87 octane really that bad with 10% ethanol?

Stock or stock-ish engines should do just fine on 87 octane. Screaming high-compression engines are where you should beware. Fabrizi Flash 7 ran 100 octane low-lead aviation fuel purchased for $5.00 a gallon from the local airstrip.10 years ago. I hate to think what it costs now.
