Engine Stop Switch vs Turning Key

Post by Oscarez14 »

So when I bought my spree the previous owner told me to try to never use the stop switch because you run the risk of messing your automatic starter up. Is there any truth to this? Is it better to use one over the other or are they the exact same and stop switch is just a commodity?

Why would Honda put a stop switch on the scooter if it messed up the starter?

About the only way the stop switch would mess up the starter is if you forget to switch it to “Run”. Then proceed to burn up the starter by trying to start it for 45 minutes.

Ive never cooked a starter by doing this but I have forgotten to flip the switch before.
I need to find some new haters...the ones I have are starting to like me.
