Gas Tank Clean

Post by andrew_v »

Hi all,
I have a 1985 honda spree that has been sitting for a while. There is junk in the gas tank. Does anybody know a safe and secure way to clean out the tank?
Thanks a bunch in advance!

One word...Evaporust
Safest product for the specific purpose of removing rust from inside gas tanks.
There are other ways, but this is what you want.

Ive never tried any products for tank cleaning so Im just sharing my experience: one of the scoots I acquired had redkote in the tank when I got it. Never had any issues with it except the kote was down through the petcock bung so an in-tank screen filter would no longer fit. I used an in-line filter and didnt have any problems.

Ive heard stories from my grand-pappy where he would remove the tank, fill it with gravel and shake the heII out of it for awhile. I dont know about this method. If youre crazy enough to try this, I suggest earplugs. No wonder gramps was hard of hearing.
I need to find some new haters...the ones I have are starting to like me.
