1985 Spree Oil Problem?

Post by andrew_v »

Hi all,
I have a 1985 Spree. When it rounds, it sounds like it's running a "little dry." (not getting enough oil.)
Someone at the place I work at likes to work on cars, and he has said that it sounds like it is running a little dry.
Is there any way to fix this? (for instance, maybe a parts or a part?)
Thanks so much in advance!
Andrew

Greetings:

A two stroke engine that's not getting enough oil sounds like ... silence.
If it runs, it's getting enough oil.

YMMV

You can and should check the oil pump function. The check is in the manual. At idle it will be kicking out a drop or so every 5 seconds.
If it's not doing that, run 50:1 premix.
