SA50 Plastics Available

Post by Wheelman-111 »

Greetings;

It's been months, but ScooterTuning finally emailed me that the SA50 covers are back in stock. :geekdance:
The red one I got says Taiwan, the plastic seems of comparable quality to stock, and best of all, it's not repaired by a person without talent. (Me,,,)
I'll post more once I get a Garage Day to install.
Almost forgot... https://www.scootertuning.ca/en/

Greetings:

I had a chance to perform a more thorough inspection. The vendor is located on Montreal's south shore.

That looks like one angry bunny.
The price was reasonable.

converted to U.S. Dollars.
The Taiwan origin is confirmed.

The look is brand new, and the color is a good match.

The plastic tabs feel firm but not brittle like some have reported.

We'll see how installation goes soon. I've ordered another Honda Wing decal to duplicate F9's look, without the redundant Honda logo at the top.

Greetings:

Almost forgot to thank Mitch for the awesome front cover removal video. His stuff is always clear, succinct and to the point. Sadly, I lack the skills to produce anything like this.

How well does the color match? I hear the purple doesn't match the OEM color.

If there's a color difference, I can't tell even side by side. The new one had sort of a water-mark in a bubble-wrap pattern that came off with a light rubbing compound treatment.

Sharp eyes will note my aftermarket horn, numerous wires for Trail-Tech Vapor, and superflous but cool-looking Chinese extra tachometer.

Fit wasn't perfect. I didn't expect it to be. Cover bolted on as it should, just a little fussier than the stock one to line up all the tabs perfectly.

The old cover is up for sale.

It's packed up in the box next to Flash9. This was before my repair:
