Mileage quandry !?!

Post by baha_boy »

ok so my spree that did 29 MPH got like 70+ MPG's. Now my 72cc 9:1 geared toy gets like 30. any ideas on how to get some better mileage with tranny adjustments or something of that nature?

Go easier on the throttle?
I am not a mechanic, nor do I play one on TV. Actually my advice is probably worth slightly less than what you pay to view it.

Heavier weights in the variator will cause it to shift up faster and may help. Going to the 1/2" belt could help also.

so i chose to put in the 5 and 6g rollers instead of the 6 and 7 and found that one of those nice color coded 7g rollers had a monster flat spot that made me really have to get on the gas to make it roll. and my needle was at the dumping gas in motor setting. what's the benifit of a 1/2" belt? and how would you make it fit?

A half inch belt will give you higher gearing IN A SPREE TRANS.

Thanks for setting me straight. Happy to share what I know and happy to learn what I don't know.
