So I've read, but I've got to get it running and read a bit more before I throw $250 into a bore kit and destroy the motor... haha

That's all it takes to get to 50? d***.

I just bought the split throttle cable so when I start modding I won't have to ziptie the oil control.

Where did you buy your pipe and high speed variator? If that's less money than a bore kit and at least semi-efficient I might just go that route.

i got a pipe from mopedhospital.com you have to call them its like 180 bucks and the variator i got from ebay http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/RACE-VAR ... enameZWD1V
and you dont do any thing to the oil control just leave it with nothing on it the crank does it for you

i personally would skip the pipe and just get some gears.
highspeed pulley and 9:1 gears would get you 50mph.
And it keeps your bike nice and quiet.

I think I saw someone in here running 8.44:1... is that too much for a stock motor?

These 9.1:1 gears would work right?:

But where can I find the high speed pulley? (Is that the same thing as the variator?)

And I haven't drilled the baffles yet, but would the pulley and 9:1 gears work well without drilling into my exhaust? Or would you recommend drilling? And if I do the "intake" mod will I need a bigger jet?

those will work, but VTcycles has them for like 40-45. and there shipping is less also.

Im the one who runs 8.44:1 on a semi stock bike. it works good, but 9:1 works better.

a highspeed pulley is a front pulley with a different ramp on the front, it gives better top end without hurting take off. Again, VT has them.

i would recommend calling VT and seeing how much 9:1 gears and a highspeed pulley is shipped.
my guess is that the total will be like 100 shipped. But really thats not so bad for 50mph.
And, its allot better then ebay, ebay really rips you off. VT is more direct and very costumer friendly.
