Moped tragedy, remembering Jay Gephart

It is with great sadness that I bring you the news that Jay Gephart of Rockford, MI was struck by a car and killed while riding his moped. Jay was the brother of Ghost Rider Graham Gephart, friend of the Moped Army, avid moped rider, and full of life and possibility. To all who knew and loved him, you have my deepest condolences. It is overwhelming to hear of yet another moped related death. Please, please be safe.

pray for him.

Sorry to hear that. It amazes me how stupid drivers are. I've had them look right in my eyes while trying to turn when I have the right of way.

I am not a mechanic, nor do I play one on TV. Actually my advice is probably worth slightly less than what you pay to view it.

Get a kid on a scooter and an adult in a car. What do you think the answer is? "the kid shot right out in front of me, I tried to stop but couldn't, why do they let kids run around on those things." Unless the car driver was slobering drunk he'll get off.

BTW, I am an adult and spent lots of years on two wheels dodging idiots.

Arkansas's minimum age to get a permit to ride a moped/scooter (50cc or under) on public roads AND highways (but not interstates or limited access highways) is 10. :?

And again, so many limited details and everybody is jumping to conclusions. It has no hint to the age or the way in which the accident happened but yet everybody is already jumping the driver's *. Immature....

Generally people who ride mopeds realize "woah man, im on a clown car of a motorcycle surrounded by stereotypical Americans driving hummers while paying more attention to their cell phone than the road, I better be careful". 99.99% of 2 wheels vs 4 wheels accidents are the fault of the 4 wheel. If the bolded has never gone through your head, may whatever god you believe in help you.
