My JDM Dio projects

Post by sanjuro »

My current bike:

I never liked how the previous owner powder coated the frame red. It was such a terrible job, and now I'm going to remedy that:-)

I tore it down yesterday:

It should end up looking like my other frame below:

I've got another AF28 I am building, but that one is black in color (AF35 frame on the right).

Wow, those Dios are nice! And you have 2 of them!

Are you in the states? Because I didn't think there were many here, and yet you have 2.

One I bought when I was in Tokyo last April:

I couldn't ship the frame over, and managed to pick a bare frame off of craigslist a few months ago. Redid the frame in a gloss black, and have everything done on the scooter (all new body panels, wiring, nuts/bolts, hoses/cables, and etc.) except the motor, which currently sits like this:

...just waiting on a MHR cylinder kit from Europe.

The white Dio AF28 was purchased from Vancouver, and it's undergoing a total makeover with all new body panels, wiring, fuel tank, motor refresh, and etc. This will have a Polini cylinder kit.

The AF35 is a long term project, but used to look like this:

Just 3 at the moment. I'm moving to NYC so the collecting/rebuilding will have to take a break.
