Bad Clutch Blues

So I recently totally overhauled my 1986 Honda Spree. Replaced all gaskets, o-rings, seals, bearings, new piston kit, etc. When I had my driven clutch out of the engine I did notice some roughness in the two bearings located within it. Basically what I'd like to know is what do these clutches have for "normal wear parts"? And are there any aftermarket (performance) options? Maybe the springs in the link below?

Thanks for the help.

I should also add I have a brand new OEM center spring to ready to install. Also that the belt was +.2 from spec (still good).

Greetings:

They may fit physically; I have a hunch they do.

However unlike the variated bikes, Sprees are set up to make useful torque down low in the rev range. Adding 1500 or 2000 RPM to the engagement speed might make for lurchy take-off at best and might take the engine up above its torque peak before engaging at worst. Why not get Honda-san's springs at your dealer?

Part Number: 22401-GK8-000. $3.65. I suspect your Dealer can get them in 2 days. No shipping cost.

Also that the belt was +.2 from spec (still good).
Can you tell me how you got your belt to grow bigger than stock?
I don't recall selling you any Wheelman's Scooter *... :)

Correction: was +.02 from the "throw away (.43") spec. Nice catch though....haha.

After further inspection and research here on the site, I've concluded that my clutch pads and bell are pretty much junk. The bell has a lot of "bluing" to it and the pads are very, very dark (almost black).

After checking various Honda parts sites online, the clutch "bell" is $48 and the shoes are $40 for a set. I really, really, really, really don't want to stick another $100 into this d*** scooter. This leads me to ask, is there any reason an aftermarket clutch setup like the one in the link below won't work? I figure I could re-use my NQ50 main spring and 3 small springs and the pulleys?

Thanks for any insight, I'm kind-of thinking out loud on this one...
