OEM Honda windscreens?

Post by mousewheels »

What models have you guys seen OEM windscreens for?

I just grabbed a partial pic of a Spree with what the seller says is a factory windscreen.
This Spree is currently for sale on the Seattle C/L as http://seattle.craigslist.org/tac/mcy/1202331824.html.

Here is a 1984 Gyro

Lastly, a JDM Gyro (Roadfox) with a windscreen. Could be aftermarket, but the front and rear racks probably are Honda.

So what about the Aero and Elite? Do they have windscreens too?

Pretty sure it was an option on all the Hondas back in the 80s.
I am not a mechanic, nor do I play one on TV. Actually my advice is probably worth slightly less than what you pay to view it.

I have an accessory sheet from back in the 1980s for the Aero line up and there were windscreens for all the models. So like Kenny said, I would suspect there were windscreens for all models available.

Thanks Bear - I've been in agreement with Kenny all along, just slow at tracking down and posting photos. Photo updates below. BTW would you like to scan that accessory sheet? Bet folks would like to see it :)

Making your own is

I don't know how maddog did it, but the bicycle guys have made blown fairings in their garage. A windscreen does not need as much shape, but has features to wrap around the handgrips etc. to keep the icy/wet blasts off the rider. It would also be thicker than a bicycle sized component, so process adjustments are needed. Anyhow, a template of the desired profile, and moderation on how much 'blow' could be fun experimentation for a scooter windscreen.

Here's another piece to the puzzle. This is from Honda Canada from 1984, so it's not totally applicable to the USA market but usually (always?) any accessories that were sold in Canada were also sold in the USA. It seems that even more accessories were available in the USA since the windscreen is not listed for the Spree here:
