Re: Super Dio ZX AF28 build (Burial exhaust video pg 16)

Post by sanjuro »

I checked the plug today, and it was completely soaked and dark. I first went down to a 30 slow jet and kept the 165 main in there. It wouldn't idle very well and the new plug I put in there ended up being very dark too. So, this evening I went all the way down to a 25 slow jet and 160 main. It ran very well and idled better than the previous setups.

Gotta say, the Burial pipe with it's tiny 22mm inlet at the flange likes the jetting real low. Also, I have to take back what I said about it being quieter than the PG Typhoon. It's got a very sharp wrrraaaaahhhh sound to it after 5mph.

Well, the motor was running beautifully when I down jetted to a 20 slow jet and 155 main jet using the Burial exhaust. The bike idled and there was no bogging, but every once in a while recently it would soft seize. It did it again after a 20 minute ride, and I decided to have a closer look:

Greetings:

Sorry, Sanj! What spark plug?

Dude, weren't you running like a 40 Pilot at one time? When'd ya get down to a 20?

F3 Nikasil liked a 25/165.

The 40 slow jet was with the PG Typhoon pipe, and when I used that on the Burial pipe the plug was soaking wet.

The spark plug I'm using is the BR8HSA.

I think I see where your extra air might have came from.the vacuum nipple caps.one of them has some big cracks on them.plus I think that pilot was way to small. Are you straight premixing too?
Nothing like getting stroked!

the rubber vaccum cap has hairline crack/ tiny vacuum leaks will cause to run lean.

20 p jet is small and cause motor runs hot.

it is a wrong plug to run BR8HSA.
b8hs or b9hs.

Yes, I was straight mixing a 32:1 ratio. Also, I recently switched to Motul 710 about four tanks ago.

I just checked the vacuum nipple caps. They have cracks in them, but the cracks are on the surface only. I'll jbweld those vacuum nipples to get rid of any possibility of leaks at those points.

Yeah, I just got a 22.5 jet in, but hadn't installed it:-(

I'll order a bunch of B8HS plugs, and thanks for all of the advice/tips.

all premix oils has differ feels by finger rubing, some are thin or thick.

thin oil need more oil Thick oil just less oil.

Running differ oil brands make hard to tuning on jetting..

use same oil running and easy to tune on carb jetting.
