Re: 1983 Honda Aero80
WOW! I though mine was gonna be a project. *, mine is just gonna be replacing some plastics and doing a bit of plug in wiring. Oh yeah, and some hot rodding of course. I'm impressed.

Ive replaced all the plastics on this one.
I think Im going to hot-rod this one up a bit, carb, and a CR-80 piston. Ill probably wait too do the piston this winter.

Re: 1983 Honda Aero80
I too am considering the CR-80 piston (also this winter but the Spree needs to be finished before I get too carried away with this Aero) but I will be going with a CT manifold and 6 petal reeds. Along with the manifold, a 19 to 21 mm carb since the stock carb is only 16 mm. Staying small with the carb because this machine will never need to do more than 45 mph, so with 55 mph as a target top speed, I won't really stress the engine much. First thing is to up jet the stock carb because it is on the lean side from the factory. As luck would have it my jets came in today (a 90, 92, and 95) so this weekend is play with the Aero weekend. Here's some pics of mine. Not near the basket case yours was.

Re: 1983 Honda Aero80
Yeah it is and it has less than 1000 miles on it. So I'm really pleased to have gotten it. So the intent is to make it look good again. Beside my wife really likes it.
Here is a really nice one on Seattle Craiglist.

That one is a great machine. It has the rear turn signals (very hard too find) and the lenses between the front turn signals.

Re: 1983 Honda Aero80
Just about done.
Got the new brake cables on and the steering fixed.
Only thing left is to get the rest of the plastics on and hook the spring up for the kick stand.
And need to put in my new rollers that came today! Any one ever used Prima brand rollers?

Yep, for whatever reason, workdog wrote: Any one ever used Prima brand rollers?
They turned to dust in less than 300 mi.
I couldn't believe it. Maybe a variator problem,
But I've never seen a roller die so fast.
