Re: ch150 on a elite 50 frame
ya its a 4-stroke. and a fast 1 at that. it will go 65 mph without mods to the motor. but i do have a 28mm oko flat slide on it. it was a boring weekend and i was waiting for parts on my jog so i was at a stand still unless i did this prodject that i was wanting to do for a while now. the good thing is that its all honda and watercooled. so im happy!MopedMan84 wrote:you just turned a 2-stroke into a peace of

Re: ch150 on a elite 50 frame
No such thing as an Elite 125 2 stroke. There is an Aero 125 2 stroke. All the larger Elites except the 50s are 4 stroke.MopedMan84 wrote:Hey, A scooter is a scooter.....good build

Sorry I stand corrected, you are right that the aero is the 125 2t----
Re: ch150 on a elite 50 frame
I'm not sure why more people don't do swaps with more powerful 4t engines.
Do you think a ruckus radiator could provide enough cooling power for the 150, so long as it had a fan of some sort?

Mainly because 4 strokes are boring and EPA required. Oh and CC to CC, 4 strokes never have the potential for horsepower that 2 strokes do.

Re: ch150 on a elite 50 frame
i thought the same thing about the radiator. as i have a metropolitan radiator. could have hooked the original 150 fan to it and would of fitted the front of the bike alot better. but the radiator from the 150 was way bigger so i didn't take any chances and used it instead.mr pibbs wrote:I'm not sure why more people don't do swaps with more powerful 4t engines.

Re: ch150 on a elite 50 frame
There is a reason the 150 has a bigger radiator than a 50 engine. It produces about 3 times the heat of a 50 cc engine, hence the bigger radiator.

A 150cc 4t engine is the same equivalency as a 72cc 2t engine.... meaning a 150cc 4t bike would have to race a 72cc 2t bike to be fair race...Bear45-70 wrote:Mainly because 4 strokes are boring and EPA required. Oh and CC to CC, 4 strokes never have the potential for horsepower that 2 strokes do.

Re: ch150 on a elite 50 frame
ya but torques ratings r different as is tuning. you could cruise on a 4t at higher speeds with lower rpms do to torque. much easier on a 4t that a 2t. although i luv may 2t bikes. the bike was just a spare project that required no money to through at it. simply parts i had laying around. ive done enough projects on 2t so i figured this would be a good project plus i can cruise at a speed of 55 comfortablyMopedMan84 wrote:A 150cc 4t engine is the same equivalency as a 72cc 2t engine.... meaning a 150cc 4t bike would have to race a 72cc 2t bike to be fair race...Bear45-70 wrote:Mainly because 4 strokes are boring and EPA required.
