NEED IDEAS FOR A CHEAP, FAST BIKE
Heres a pic of my bike. Its a 2000 Honda Elite S. Engine code AF16E. I was looking at some polini corsa kits, ruima ministroker kits and so on and so forth, but im looking at 800 dollars with that. I just recently got in to the scooter tuning scene and all i did was turn the smaller screw on the carb (not the idle or drain) in all the way which actually made it run a lot better, removed the restriction from the muffler and variator, and drilled out some of the baffles in the exhaust to make it flow a bit better (keep in mind it has 3k miles). I just need info on where to go for parts, what parts to get, and how to make my bike run really fast on a tight budget. she revs out at around 38-40 mph.

Re: NEED IDEAS FOR A CHEAP, FAST BIKE
it goes around 40 right now. i dont want an insane 120mph+ bike or anything of that caliber, but somewhere around 60 would be nice. i was thinking some new primary gears and a final drive at 9:1 or 7:1 on 72ccs.... i just got into all this and need some ideasGN Racer wrote:An old adage...

Re: NEED IDEAS FOR A CHEAP, FAST BIKE
A nice gearing would help you out if you want to go beyond 40 mph without your motor scream to death. It's more of tuning than throwing thing on it to make it go fast. I would rake baby steps for now until you figured out 2 cycle motor.

You need to do a plug chop with a new plug. http://hondaspree.net/wiki/index.php5?t ... If you had to turn the adj. screw all the way in to make it run better than there is a possibility you have a vacuum leak , or could be caused by drilling out the exhaust restriction and the baffles but not rejetting the carb.
You are running with an air filter?
Hate to see that pretty scooter get hurt.

id hate to see her get hurt too shes my baby lol... i always ran it with the stock airbox and i did the carb adjustment before i drilled the baffles, so that cant be the culprit.... can you walk me through how to check the vacuum system?dun rite wrote:You need to do a plug chop with a new plug. http://hondaspree.net/wiki/index.php5?t ... Re: NEED IDEAS FOR A CHEAP, FAST BIKE
vacuum leak would be a bad gasket or seal in the intake system. you can use a flammable spray or unlit propane torch, with the motor running you spray around the intake gaskets. crankcase area seals, if the engine revs up at any spot than that gasket, seal, etc. is allowing air into the fuel delivery system.

Re: NEED IDEAS FOR A CHEAP, FAST BIKE
Big bore kit, gears and a variator are the biggest speed makers. Should cost about 300. You could spend more on other stuff if you wanted to
Re: NEED IDEAS FOR A CHEAP, FAST BIKE
What parts should i buy for the variator? I was looking at polini 7.7g weights but im not sure of exactly what parts to get for the variator systemPimpinSpree wrote:Big bore kit, gears and a variator are the biggest speed makers. Re: NEED IDEAS FOR A CHEAP, FAST BIKE
go to ebay and search "dio variator" People prefer the italian made stuff, but i seriously doubt its worth the price difference of the chinese stuff

I just got around to checking the vacuum system. this one seems to be the culprit. its the gasket on the bottom of the manifold where it meets the reedsdun rite wrote:vacuum leak would be a bad gasket or seal in the intake system. you can use a flammable spray or unlit propane torch, with the motor running you spray around the intake gaskets. crankcase area seals, if the engine revs up at any spot than that gasket, seal, etc. is allowing air into the fuel delivery system.
