that is a tad big for that setup.since you already have it,might as well use it.you are going to have to port the cylinder so it can flow better so that tunning that carb won't be so hard.open the intake transfers and exhaust and polish the exhaust port too.

If you don't have luck with the 30, I'd recommend buying a 24 next time around. I have the same bore and the 24 is fine for it.
I'd recommend against carbon fiber reeds. No clue on performance, but longevity wise, they suck. I've seen so many cracked CF reeds that I vowed to never buy them.
In 2040 they say we're going away
We could never let them control

I have seen alot of sa50 builds with the rear clutch cover missing. I am not sure it is for heat issuses, or just to show off the cool clutch bell housings. Whatever the reason is, I like the way it looks, but do not like the fact that it looks like somthing is missing. So I took my pretty blue clutch cover, and the sharpest scissors I could find, and began to modify it.
ImageImageImage

After cutting the cover, I discovered that one of my cover bolts was now too long, because part of the cover was now thinner.
Image

So I had to "customize" the bolt (top: original bolt. bottom: modded bolt)Image

With the new custom bolt, everything was back on track :2thumbs:

Here is a picture of the cover on the case

the reason to have the rear case off is to help heat reduction. but your rear case looks sick! sharp scissors

Well mine should help with heat and cover more of belt/drive system too.

:eyeroll: I hope everybody know the "sharp scissors" thing is a JOKE. :bs:

Just picturing someone trying to cut cast aluminum with scissors

The plan, for now, is stock crank.
Plans can always change however. The main reason I have not started putting the crank back together is, lack of bearings gaskets and seals. That, and I still have some boost port work to do.

Where is the best place to get that stuff. And don't say "the honda dealer" cuz we don't got one :jack:

Go to babbits online.Thats where i ordered my stuff from unless someone has a cheaper place to order from.I don't go to the local dealer here because they charge there rate which is about 30% higher price.you should put the mini stroke crank in since you have it apart. With that bore you have its going to be fun to ride with that extra torque from the longer stroke.the mini stroke crank just drops right in.no case cutting needed.Get some honda bond to put the case together and goto schucks or napa and get gasket paper and make some gaskets for the base and reed cage.they sell the little thicker paper too.

What exact tool are you referring to as "chop saw"? I've heard a few different saws that people refered to as chop saws. looks like you got a nice cut using it and want to use the same. My first thoughts were angle grinder but like chop saw idea better.

Why can't anyone make a bbk head, that lines up with the spark plug hole?

The plastic kinda gets in the way by the exhaust too
Image
I plan on cutting out some around the flange. get the scissors ready :bs: :DImage

And * is there a hole on the back side of the plastic for? :?
Image

I am also confused about the foam located inside the fan shroud. What is it for?
