Aero-Ped (standup 86 Aero 50)
Here's my ongoing transition of an 86 Honda Aero 50 into a "Motorized Scooter" conforming vehicle in California. A fellow member of the forum is doing the conversion for me, I'll let him chime in if he wants. Though it's not all ironed down yet it's getting closer, here's the progression of pictures from when I first got it to where it is now, notice that the bent and non-matching front fork has been replaced with a better one.

Re: Aero-Ped (standup 86 Aero 50)
Thanks for the kind words. I think I'm going to leave the seat off it (at least for now, the mount is only 4 bolts so it's easy to put on) because it has such a nice natural standing/riding position. Today I got the rest of the necessary parts together as well, so it will be on the road in the near future.

The fuel tank (no oil tank, running premix) is going to be an old fire extinguisher mounted to the front frame tube (that the fork tube goes through) and run back and down to the carb through a petcock. For safety's sake it will get a fuel pump soon, I may have the right one laying around at home from an old scooter build. The wiring harness will probably be mounted wherever is most convenient, probably either in the front near the bars or tucked away near the motor, they aren't huge concerns, just little things to be worked out. I have a battery but I don't know if I'll mount it yet (kickstarts great, esp. with the CRF50 manual choke carb on it), but it will proably go under the main frame tube or somewhere at the rear of the scoot.

Just about done now, here's a few pics that show it closer to completion, should be ready to run and ride in a few days.

lol..
You posted the group of 4 shots 4 times... It's only one image.
I compiled them together in photoshop.
heeheeh
It's been a fun build.
Making that dash work has been tough, but SnT wanted it,
so I made it work. A nice round cover for the rear of the handlebar extension
will transition from the dash well,
hide a bunch of cables, and make it look much more finished.
With some pretty painting, and a few tuning mods,
this will be super fun.
Then I'll have to get back to MY Aeroped conversion...
which of course, I like his now better than mine...

Sorry about the multiple posts lol, I just copied and pasted and didn't even look! Oh well, thanks burnt toast for cleaning it up. It has been quite the transformation, and though it was some work and a little weird, I think the dash will prove its worth once I get a proper speedometer cable for it.

It is alive!!!!

I ran it tonight in the garage, and the dash lights are super cool.
I've never had a scooter with lights on the dash.
Need to adjust the headlight a bit still.

The ped was delivered to SnT today, and he brought it home.
I'll miss it, as it was a lot of work, fun work but tough work.
Hopefully he'll post some vids of him riding it once he gets the new CDI and
get's it flying down the road.

What are you doing with all the spare parts? I was thinking about trying to get that front panel and glovebox assembly and seeing if it would fit on a spree...
Let me know if you're parting out the stuff you took off of it.
Looks good though!
