not a bad idea, but what happens when you hit a bump and the shock compresses. the pipe would have to be a little to the side of the frame rail to do that. or some wicked tight bends in the exhaust.

Greetings:

A very cool and original idea! I for one hope you can pull it off. :)

this is sweet. drop the airbox, and swap in a pod filter, lots of room there. my concern would be cooling.... is this a performance spree pipe?

funny you'd ask!
it has yet to have more than welding smoke go through it.
motor i attached it to is one that i did the exhaust porting/ elite intake addition to as well as the head mod- back door style.(thin head gasket- home made) and has not run prpperly yet. i suspect an air leak but un sure at the moment.it will not idle and only runs on what feels like the main jet.work to do there..
but yeah. prolly too small but i did it anyway cus- i could and wanted to!
i'll get it going and offer some feedback soon.

IF and when i do another Spree 16 i'm gonna try to hide the chamber as
much as possible ad have twin silencers ala RG500 or any of the similar set ups from 2 stroke GP racing.

i lucked up it seems with the front configuration of the header section.
it clears the seat panel with ease at about 1 1/2" of clearance
and only touching at the rear cone section. with a bit of tweaking i can get it closer in without fouling the suspension and requiring less material removed from the panel.anyway.. that what i've done to a scooter in the last few days.
suppose i ought to see about the Kymco ZX shroud onto 16 motor now...

Don't ya think the plastics are a little too close to the pipe? I'd worry about melting them.

I have similar mirrors mookie but I'm gonna have to sell mine. They don't extend out far enough and I can't see anything.
I'd rather be riding my Aero!

just a mock up/ idea is all.
there is insulation material available here and there
and the panels? yes they will require an openining
but not unsightly- as i see it anyway.just an idea.
food for thought...

mirrors- i hear ya. may not work but hey- they sure are cute!

i think the play would be to use twin silencers.
one on one side ; one on the other
or twin stack on one side with the lower silencer staggered forward
of the top one.
i know one thing- as soon as i am able to upgrade my welding equipment i'm going to do some exhaust stuff in one capacity or another.
wire feed, even with gas in my personal experience is not the way forward
in exhaust pipe welding and fabrication.then i could weld up pieces i
could share with someone.
