Oh yes I know. No off road use going on here
The stock air box will not work for the bbk. It is too restrictive.
So I just put this on til I find somthing better. Any suggestions?
You don't need to be off road to run into dust and grit. I'm with bakaracer, the uni is best if you need this much air.

I suggest the UNI website. You can buy direct or look up a dealer near you and avoid shipping cost.

I tried that before when I had a 95 jet in the carb. It ran too rich.
I could not get it to run right unless I was running an open carb.
Even that little rubber tube was too restrictive.
What jet are you going to run?

Currently runnin 90. and yes, it IS running rich, although i've got like 3 oz of oil in the gas along with stock oil pump runnin. Figured Rich was better than lean. keep er good and oily. After it warms up, its got excellent throttle response. little smoky at start up but then again, its loaded up with oil.
I also thought about moving the clip on the slide if i have to.

My Elite is flat black, so the smallest spec of dust shows up. I washed & dried the scoot, rode 20~ miles, and then rubbed my hand on the plastics. The scoot was covered in fine dust. It looked as though it had been sitting for a month. So yeah, I'd be worried about using a sock

The sock and bottle air box is for break in ONLY.
I am not recomemding anyone use it for riding around town.
A UNI filter is going to be used after the break in is complete.
