I thought the gy6 50cc with a 2.50 knobby tire would be a great off-road toy, the 4-stroke has plenty of low end torque for trail riding.

oh yah this motors in a lot of atv and dirt bikes along with scooters

That's odd. I thought all the GY6's had the mount on the top of the motor.

I have a line on a ratty 150 GY6 donor that has been radared at 70 wit 13" tires. I think I'll put a 10" on it to slow it up and have crazy acceleration. Well if I can ever get my hands on it.

only the 125 and up gy6 motors have top mounts the 50cc have bottom mouts.

Good to know. I have been steering away from them for a transplant for that reason. I figured if I was going through the hassle of switching from a lower to upper mount it should make big hp.

A vino 125 has a lower mount too.
