Good motor, not so good frame.

Hey guys,
I have an '85 Aero 50. The motor runs excellent, but the frame is bent like a politician. What other models could my motor bolt to?

Thanks for any feedback.

Greetings:

Your Aero engine likely will be a bolt-on fit to any early Elite - from the one-year only '87 SE50 through the 1993 Elite LX, S, and SR. Beginning in 1994, there are bushing and mounting bolt differences that can be overcome, but you must chase down the correct-diameter items for it to work. I have found the Elite frame to be a good bit stiffer than the Aero's, and thus it has somewhat better handling.

Lots of Forumistas have SE/05 engines adapted into the physically smaller Spree and SB50 Elite "E" frames. This requires a good bit more Custom work on the engine mount, and also a shock mount relocation.

Good luck!
