Sweet build. I'm surprised you're not getting more speed out of it though. I had a '96 jog that I put a pipe and variator on. After rejetting it, I got a GPS verified 53 mph. I bet you're probably getting more than 60 out of it.

Hey Brian,

Thats with the stock gears off the 04'. Got that mph number from the RPM Speed Calculator over on zumaforums.

I havent bought any upgraded gears yet, just trying to get the trans and carb dialed in correctly before buying more engine stuff.

Double check to see if your getting full belt ride height on the variator by marking it with a sharpie.if your running a athena variator, those don't get full belt ride height. How is it doing heat wise?

Thanks for the tip Brian. Ill try it out this weekend and see how high its riding. Im running a Malossi variator. Say for instance it isnt riding all the way up, do I need to get some of those S6 washer shims? Im curious if the belt is aligned with the variator and clutch pulley, as Ive heard that the OEM setup has washers. I dont have them. How can I check if its aligned?

Didnt get to test the belt and the Variator yet Bakaracer. When taking off the Variator, found that a couple of parts needed replacing and I was missing a few washers according to the parts fiche. Ordered what I needed so going to get things going real soon!

Just noticed I never updated this thread

This basically shows the bike in its final form:

Image

Rode it around like that for a while until this happened:

Image

Then started thinking about all the headaches I had riding this thing long distances. I would have to jet this thing on the side of the rode. Came to the conclusion that I needed to go 4 stroke. 180cc with all the fixin's to be exact.

Image

Then I went a little crazy ordering parts

Then decided I needed new paint.
