my build ....86 spree!
My craigslist find ....$250 86 spree w. 3800 miles..missing left plastic and horn cover, needs some tlc.
took her home, fueled her ....kick the crank and ...pata pat pat ....she runs! in fact runs great ...even without an air filter and dirty carb ....
so....
Ive been lurking these forums for the past lil while ....and have seen some cool builds ...heres my start...
I took one look at the svelte frame and decided to expose it .....
step one ... lose some weight, get naked!
removed plastic ....left only the floor plate and headlight shroud.
next steps ....
....get insurance & plates. ....
...install turn signals....
...chop the fender past the seat...
single round or dual round headlights ....
...paint....
new horn
check out what is wrong with my starteR ? works when warm ...* ? any suggestions ?
...re -route exhaust. ....i wan t it to curve up up to a 45-ish degree angle ...expose that single sided swingarmnessssss.....any suggestions ?
tell me what you think !
thanks!

Re: my build ....86 spree!
get the other half of the plastic shroud that cools the bore.
With out it it may over heat.
Looks pretty neat

Thank you!
Which part are you referring to ? the side covers ? Could you tell me where it helps to cool the engine ? Perhaps i can rig something up for that purpose ....

Good deal!!
I have those same Kenda tires. They are nice and soft.
Looks like you're on the right track.

there should be more shroud over the cylinder(bore)......that thing the spark plug is on top of......which directs air from the fan over the entire bore for cooling.......as it is, fan is blowing into side of bore, but not around it completely, as it was designed to do.......this engine doesn't get direct air like a conventional motorcycle
