Thanks for the advice spree-rider.

If I had the stock luggage rack, I could use those mounting points as a guide. Maybe I can pick up a cheap luggage rack off eBay.

Unfortunately, there isn't much made for it as far as performance parts go.

So far, I just have the cone air filter installed. Most of my work has been restoration....new stator, brake lines, etc.

I'd like to mount some foot pegs for it eventually.

Also, I'm planning on getting the variator test kit from Daywot, and experimenting with some different weights. Also going to get a performance clutch and hope that it's compatible...the OEM one has been discontinued.

i just meant..if you dont have the stock luggage rack...where is your brake light mounted

edit: nm, i just realized you meant "if i had the stock elite luggage rack, i could use that for reference points"

might as well fab one for the aero, jon said he'd like one, i may also be interested depending on function/cost/appearance.

Will your aero mounting points be the same as mine since our year models are different?

I have a Elite S stock luggage rack if you want it........if you made grab bars like the one in my picture you would sell lots, especially if they were affordable :thumbwink:

Greetings:

The rear profile of the later '85-on Aeros is very different from your '84. Some would say the early ones look sleeker.
For that reason, I'm inclined to beloeve the rack mount points will be quite different.

I definitely agree with you Wheelman. I absolutely love my 84', but it's a total PITA trying to get parts for it since it's so different from the later models.

I will definitely look into the side stand design. I'll make something non-invasive and bolt on, cost will be $50 or less. As I'm doing with the shock mount, I'll also do with my other items. The first one goes out for just the cost of materials to make sure it is as advertised.

How do you guys feel about some foot pegs? Some that would stick out beyond the foot board. Prob use the kind that can fold up.
That's a good deal for 6 bucks. I could definitely design a reliable bolt on mounting system for that.

I'll probably order one of those tonight to give myself a basis to work from this weekend.

I have a mostly there rack off an '85 Aero i would be willing to part with. The front mount points are broken, but enough of one is there to get a measurement.

I don't have any use for it as its already off as I'm converting to Euro-tail setup.
