Eliteped build

Post by Elitepedguy »

After battling with State patrol I have given up making this a titled street vehicle so now it will make a great stand up scooter that I have been wanting to build. I took the cutting wheel to it a couple days ago and now have a rolling stand up scooter chassis and motor mounted up. I have seen this done before like the Aeroped build but this is going to be taking it up a level or two. First thing that will need to go is the front fork springs which are useless now. Going to swap out two spree rear shocks to firm the saggy front forks. Going to put a smaller plastic KLX110 style fuel tank and a pit bike fuel tank for the oil tank in back which should look ok It will kind of look like the MTB scooter's that I build on the bottom but no shifting and about half the weight.
MTB= motorized trail board

That is gonna look ShArP when you get it done. What is the difference as far as riding it on the road? your state have different laws for scooters based on whether you sit down or stand up? also state patrol generally stays on the interstate :P unless the scoot does 60 I wouldnt even think of getting out there with those idiots

Yea another CL find, I picked it up for $60 but the top end was cooked got a spare aero engine that runs for $75 and bought a VT cycle 63cc kit to put on the original motor after the scooter is all built and dialed in. took it for a unpowered test ride and except for the squishy front end it handles really good for a stand on scooter and can't wait to get it finnished. With all the weight shaved off this thing it should be a quick toy for sure. Scooter laws are kind of vague where I live when it comes to goped type scooters, if it is a stand on scooter it needs to have lights be under 49cc and the operator needs to be over 16 thats about all the law says where I live.

Finnished the Elite-ped project today and pleased with the outcome. Very rideable and the heavier front shocks makes it nice to ride even in the rough stuff. Now on to building my 63cc kit and squeezing some more power out of this little guy. Shaved this scooter down to 115lbs which should make any mods much more noticeable. Here is some pics and a short vid.

Can't see pics :( Really want to check out your build! Maybe its just because I'm viewing on phone.

Great to see another stand up on here! What are the laws for Washington?
