Eve/Nifty Fifty headset swap w/ Spree handlebars
I figured I would make a seperate thread for this in case anyone else is interested in doing this swap without also purchasing the handlebars that match. Shipping is already outrageous without having to buy stuff you really don't need. I found pictures of the eve handlebars and viewed it from all angles before I attempted this. It has actually been pretty easy to do. All you have to do is cut the headlight mount almost completely off except for short tabs where the top part screwes onto the bars. the bottom of the mount needs to be cut as flush as possible. the tab that holds the bottom piece and the top piece facing the seat has to be cut shorter and welded back on, that is the "hardest" part. It has to be a certain length and angle for the pieces to sit flush. The screw holes have to be drilled out in a slightly different spot but that can easily be done with a dremel carbide or diamond tip, just enlarge the already present holes to accomodate the slight change and use a small washer to keep it from slipping. Here is my progress so far...took less than 30 minutes once the handlebars have been removed from the scoot. I use a rotary tool with metal cutting disks for a dremel.

Well got the back tab welded back on and the headset mocked just gotta enlarge the top screw holes. I may have to take the back tab off and move it slightly over the fit is really tight I will find out once i have time to put it on the scoot i can always cut it off and reweld with it on there

Re: Eve/Nifty Fifty headset swap w/ Spree handlebars
Got the headset on and everything bolted and wired all i have left to do is rewire the headlight, for some reason there is only 2 wires on it, green for ground and brown to one of the contacts. It must have only been wired for bright but the bulb is high and low. I will just take the socket apart and solder blue and white onto the connectors and I will be set. I like this headlight because you can change the bulb unlike the stock Spree It turned out really well.

Whats goin on with the blue storage space. Did you stipple the whole thing or is your camera playing tricks on my colorblind eyes? Either way freeking sweet scoot. Makes the spree into a completely diffrent scoot.

Its a combination of camera, twilight, and the surface texture of the plastic. I modified that glovebox from the 87 Spree I think they look better than the accessory box for the 84-86 and hold a little more stuffs. As you can see this build is not only meant to be aesthetically pleasing as well as utilitarian I like to haul as much s*** as I can hahahha My inspiration was of course the japanese Eve, this is my tribute to the disaster stricken people of Japan who's culture will live on even as the world tries to forget. Thanks for your admiration

Re: Eve/Nifty Fifty headset swap w/ Spree handlebars
Awesome. I love scoots loaded up with baskets. Ive always wanted to rig up the express side metal baskets to fit the back of a spree. Also is the scooter with all the upgrades the one the pictures are of? If so that thing is way utilitarian . As in fast, classy, and room for junk in trunk(Baskets)

Re: Eve/Nifty Fifty headset swap w/ Spree handlebars
yea hahha i have thought of the side baskets too yes this is loaded with all the goodies I could afford at the moment. so far it is has been super reliable after an almost complete rebuild from the junk yard I have put at least 500 miles on the 65cc taiwan kit without any problems and temps around 230 after a 40-45 mph run spiking at around 250-260 if the engine is suddly shut off with the killswitch instead of idling down. I built this as a daily driver since I dont drive cars and I dont feel safe on a large motorcyle though I have several and a car sitting in the yard I do a lot of errands and selling and trading so i gotta be able to haul stuffs but I want to turn heads when I roll by I took my time with this build and it is still evolving, as a kid I always wanted a vespa scooter but they were and are way more than I want to spend. The only think I am not satisfied with is the gas milage not surely exactly what I am getting but it isnt what the Spree used to get I think my float level may be a bit high since I get fuel out of the overflow sometimes I guess from bumps etc
