We were talk stock powerheads in those threads.[/quote]

I was just poking fun, so wow a soft seaze. Scary stuff!! So do you guys think that was a direct result of that oil pump letting air in the case? I will order a temp gauge tonight. Dont tell my wife this site exists or I will loose my internet priviledges. When my guys at work go in my office they ask what I am looking at I reply "scooter *". They think I am a freak.

:D the same thing happened to me today too, it wouldnt accelerate apparently the pod filter i have on there doesnt give the carb enough air with it below the level of the carb...i had it twisted pointing down cause i thought it looked kewl. I already had it a tad lean with a 78 jet and hte pod filter with the clip in the middle but at some point the clamp came loose and ht inte filter was halfway off so it was sucking air straight in and i didnt know it. went completely dead at about 30mph with a momentary scraping noise. immediately started back up but shortly did it again then i noticed hte loose filter so i made it to a parking lot and put the clip all the way down to make it as rich as possible and screwed the a/f screw in about a half a notch. rode it some more without anymore problems. probably take the head off tomorrow and see what damage if any i did and make sure i have no air leaks around the header and carb and drill me a slightly larger jet and wire the pump open to be on the safe side

I went and rode this beast for awhile tonight. I have put 1.3 hours today on the motor total. 1 tank of fuel and working hard on my second. I ordered the trail tech temp gauge today, I plugged the nipple on the oko carb which I had breathing atmospere but was searching old threads and Bear mentioned this should be plugged because it is intended for oil injection. Unless I misread. Well it plugged now.. I will test tomorrow and report back.

I have horrible trottle between 1/4 and half throttle then it takes off like a raped ape from there. I am guessing the needle jet is the issue, I will make some adjustments from there. I am using this as my reference if anybody wants to see where I am coming from.

I need to do some plug chops and see whats really goin on. So I noticed the main spring on my clutch is red, does that mean it has an after market 2000 rpm spring there? I understand this is a very vague description. The 3 small clutch springs are not painted at all, and I would of guessed honda would have left the larger spring un painted as well. The clutch currently engages around 4200-5000 rpm. Is this normal for stock springs? It is actually almost dangerous, my brother was riding the scoot tonight to give her a spin. He pull onto the street and was going about 10mph then the purple scooter roared and lifted the front tire off the ground a few inces and he was scared. This will be great once the work is all complete. I think I wil drop the new gears in tomorrow. I have the 18x39 gears so I think I will by flying on top speed. My motor hit 10008 rpms today on accident, hopefully that is not too high.

42/12 (number of teeth on primary gears) =3.5:1 ratio

39/18 (number of teeth on secondary gears) = 2.166:1 ratio

3.5 x 2.166 =7.583:1 Overall ratio

Just because you have the gear ratio to go very fast, does not mean you have the horsepower to achieve that fast speed.

Did you port the boost port on the block? Did you just run the jets that came in the carb?

I hit 55mph in town(gps) I am awaiting some jets and temp sensor, and bh8s plugs. Then this should get going, I have 2.5 hours on the engine since yesterday. I am thinking of switching to 32-1 mix now. So when I get to tuning I should hopefully hit 65 or so.

I have 18x39 gears, like I said I hit 55mph in town... In a 30mph zone, I will probably take it out to the county tonight and open it up a bit more. But my jetting is not tuned yet, I need to wait until my supplies come in before I mess around and destroy the piston. The jets and temp gauge will be here next week.
