Ok so top speed going down hill was 61mph tonight gps. On flat ground it will do 54-55mph with stock jets....

This is awesome, bear you were right about the chance of not producing enough power for those gears. I think I am a bit limited without the jet set.

I have now went through my second tank of 28-1 mixed gas. I plan on doing some 32-1 mix now to see how it effects things.

My rpms do not go as high as they did last night. I hit 1080rpm at some point. Today with these gears I did not break past 9k.

*with all this being said I am more than happy with the current performance, this is amazing compared to how it was less than a week ago.

If you don't have the right jets in the carb, I wouldn't ride it till you do. Your only asking for it to seize and the next time you won't be so lucky to get it started again.
Nothing like getting stroked!

Here is what I have noticed, after about 3/4' throttle there is no real difference in acceleration even down hill. This seems to me that my main jet is way too small. I do not hold it at full throttle for fear of leaning it out. But I have not had any problems at all since I blocked the oil pump off, and the nipple on the back of the carb (the one bear was talking about that is a place to use a oil line if your intake is not equipped).. I will keep every one in the loop. Thanks for all the support. I talk to you gys about this stuff more than any one of my friends or family could take. They just dont get the picture, but that okay. That leaves less competition to buy local scooters off of craiglist. lol

It is ALREADY leaned out, holding it at WOT will not change that.

Fair enough, I will hopefully stay off it until my stuff arrives. I will be enlisting back in the Army on Wed. and Thursday this week, which buys the motor 2 days off from ignorant thrashing. But upon my return it will be initiated once again.

Okay guys, today I switched in some new rollers. I almost never rev past 7800 rpm with 45 grams worth of rollers in town. I have 51 grams now, it feels faster but the rpms are not going much higher than 8400rpms on flat ground. Should I keep going higher? I am running the 26mm oko W/ 130 Main and 32-1 mixed fuel.

For the record I have about 14 hours of run time on the build so far. I weigh now about 192lbs with clothes. What color center spring should I run? Thanks!

Thanks Veedub. I hit 64mph down hill just now. I put 36 grams in the vari.. Definatly slower acceleration, but hit 58-60 on a faily flat route. Do I have to split the case to boost port match?

its best to split the case to keep metal shavings out of the crank and crank case....

Yes I blew that budget out of the water!!!

Hey Veedub, do you have any pics or video on the porting of the jug? Or dimensions of how much to remove? On the wikispreedia for the spree it said to remove .015'' or one piston ring above the exhaust port, how much do recommend for this 50mm? Thanks, and how much on the intake?

I still need to match the boost port on this thing. When I do I will also port the ever living snot out of the jug, I am anxious to use my new 90 degree "magic stick" (this is what trafficjamz calls his pencil grinder as I recall from his build thread) I think I might buy a MHR and copy the porting from that on this 50mm jug. Any other porting tips? I read in the 2 stroke performance book that you do not want ou exhaust port to be any wider than 33% of your bore size due to ring wear/ damage. As far as how high I read in the wiki that you want about .015'' or so, I am curious if anybody else does more than that with great success? Thanks in advanced.

Oh and I can t believe how hastily I did this project back then, no patience at all. Baka and Veedub I should have listened to you in the 1st place an split that case and matched the boost port. The good thing is now I am more capable of doing a clean job and have since bought the right tools to get it done. I appreciate all the help everybody has given me through my projects, I hope to return the favor in the future.

Don't forget to open up the intake windows. I knife edged mine. There is also a lip on one of the ports that needs to come off. Its on the intake side. Remember, if you boost port to fit the 50mm, I don't think the corsa or MHR will cover the hole. I boost ported a 48mm, then tried to put a polini jug on, and it didn't cover. Not good. You do need to split the case for sure. Way easier and safer
Thanks for that. I am assuming the knife egde is describing the bottom of the intake port being ground down to a sharp point at the bottom of the jug? Got any pics showing this?
