Nope didn't lower em. Just stripped the plastics off of them. I think that it looks lower to but I think it's just the stretch and or all the black in the front idk lol. But I was looking for some replacement adjustable shocks. Shortest I found that weren't outrageous in price were still a half inch longer than the stockers so They stayed still need a paint job though.

Sweet. Still looks great with no drop in the front. I guess I thought u lowered it because of your after pic earlier on this page, but now that I really look it was to show your new tire/met wheel.
Are there any advantages to running the malossi head over the stocker with the polini bore??
Thank u sir! I'm really glad to see another aero build in progress. Definitely some inspiration/motivation! I'd love to cruise but I'm sure your not in New England.
To have an idea what it would look like 1" lower in front check out my post in the pic thread in the general section.
Little update on the Aero for everyone. I parted out my AF05 at the end of the season and started collecting af16's and parts. The aero will be getting my MHR motor when it is finished but its still in the beginning stages as of now.
But I have been working on a new front end! Got my hands on a donor scoot 2012 Bashin I think it was. Got it just for the front end. It took a lot of work but I've got the front completely installed on the aero now. Here are some pics! Start to finish
First the donor front end.
Had to cut away the lower plastics mount but it's really not needed anyway.
And the tube for the new forks was a little wide at the base but the right size on the top end so I cut away the base of the tube on the frame.
Once I had it cut and level I noticed the bearing race was a little loose so I cut a ring from the donor frame so use as a spacer at the end of the fork tube and JBwelded it in place. Next was the plastics mods there was a lot in the way lol. Had to cut away the cubby in the leg shield.
Next was the front plastics.
A quick test before I finish the cutting.
All cut and all clears now.
Bought a NYC Ruckus bar clamp and a set of bars along with a set of Adelin levers had a cut off about a half inch off the stem to bring it a little lower but this is what I came up with in the end.
Finished product minus the wheel.
Still need to paint up the forks and most likely lower them as well. Waiting on getting my new tire mounted on the rim and fitting it to test the hight. I also plan on doing a ruckus style tree mounted headlight most likely a single trail tech light or an led bar haven't decided yet. But I think it came out great!

Well the motor for my aero should be complete by the end of the week just in time for the Michigan weather to finally straighten up! Put a fresh coat of paint on my rims and new set of Michelin S1 tires. Just need to run my wiring harness, assemble the front end and fill up the disc res and she will be motor ready!
Here's the rims
And I decided to paint the center of the disc to match. Along with some chrome hardware.

Another update on my build. I am closing in on the finishing my MHR build and it is just about ready to be strapped in to the aero. I picked up my new stretched mount from my welder today going long with an 8.5inch stretch. I decided to build a different style shock mount buy using the stock mount post and my first 5inch stretch post and bolting a piece of square tubing to those to get the 8.5inch stretch for the shock mount as well. Worked out perfect. I feel this is a better way to go about it for one so I don't have to drill another hole through my frame and I believe it will take some stress off the rear of the frame being bolted in 2 spaced out spots. I may add a gusset to the frame if I feel to much flex once I get it on the road. Since I am just waiting on a few parts from honda to finish the assembly of the motor I decided to do a little mock up to see what I'm looking at I'm very happy with the results so far!!
The shock mount
New motor mount 8.5inch stretch!
Engine mock up.
Every thing clears
Loving the look from behind!
