completely redid my 89 elite again (:

Post by 7m-iata »

Finally broke down and painted EVERYTHING as well as replaced the engine and reconfigured the suspension and all that jazz d:. Well here she is in all her glory I have a 1/2 gal gas tank, 73cc bore kit with "matched" pipe. All electronics and batt relocated inside the front cover 1e40qmb (minarelli/jog clone) engine. Only thing I have left to do is a little tuning and my rear lights mounted (L.E.Ds) YES it DOES have rear brakes I have the cable off right now I was debating running more of a ruckus style bar setup still havent decided yet... opinions?

Is that a chinese engine/ clone? If so I think the cover needs to be on that back to help support the clutch shaft. Or at least on my brother in laws it was needed. You might take the belt off and see how much side play there is on that shaft.

The ride looks good :thumbwink:

It is a chinese clone thanks for that might have to come up with an idea on that one. There isn't any play so I didn't think the bearing in the cover was all that necessary I'll look into what I can do with the case that'll still look alright.

How hard was it to swap in the jog motor? What kind of mods did you do to the wire harness?

Wire harness is pretty much plug n play just match up the colors. I had to build mounts since the jog engine is top mount engine, I fabrcate for a living though it took about an hour to cut off the old mount from the frame make and weld on the tabs.
