A good toolkit is a hammer and a condom. If the hammer doesn't fix it, Use the condom to f**k it!

Judging from the size of those license tags, I assume the bobbies there are all very near-sighted.... :bowrofl:

Greetings:

Ah, 25 year-old stickers: A nightmare to remove. Try this:

Soak a paper towel in a low-volatility solvent like mineral spirits or paint thinner. Get a plastic bag and tape it like a kangaroo pouch over the sticker area you want to loosen and remove. Slip the solvent-soaked paper towel into the pouch, then tape over the top of the pouch. Walk away for a couple of hours. With any luck the sticker adhesive hasn't yet petrified and fossilized, and will have relaxed its grip on the sticker paper.

WARNING: Depending on the solvent, you could soften or even damage your plastics/paint. Try this at your own risk.

thanks for the tip wheelman, dont think ill try that if it could damage my paints or plastics, its been sujjested to me using boiling soapy water, plastic scraper and wd40 ? so ill try that first. if not sandpaper will be coming out and the whole scoot will be getting a respray :)

Lighter fluid works very well and shouldn't damage the plastics. You just need the heat slightly sometimes with a hair drier to be able to lift a corner and get the lighter fluid under there, and sometimes you just need to get an edge lifted and carefully peel a little bits at time and clean the residue off with the lighter fluid. Soap and water will do nothing for sticker goo but make a mess.

I really like the white plastic.... :eyeroll:
I think it would look best to simply get some repro-stickers
in the color scheme of your preferrence, and trim out with seat
treatment to compliment. Members here are doing these in
vinyl-cut transfers and looking a treat. Compare the time, effort,
and cost of prepping and painting to sticker replacing.....
This is all assuming that the scooter will be utilitarian transport
instead of being a "trophy winning trailer queen".
