I sandblasted the cover clean and made a block off plate over the snorkel hole, I was always worried something would fall inside my drive face.

I have this fan cover with a couple burn holes from the exhaust I plan on repairing by plastic welding. I'm also going to put a fan scoop on because I think they look cool and nobody has ever put one on a ch80.

I got the scoop mounted by plastic welding some mounting points and repaired the holes.

This was a pic from midway through swapping out engines. It fired up and sounds healthy, I'm just running some heat cycles to break it in now.

I've taken it for some short rides and got up to 50mph, I need to try some bigger jets and buy decent muffler next.

I got a small cheap tach to help with tuning, now I need to find a good mounting spot.

Greetings:

My TinyTach mounted with 3M double-sided foam tape. I bent a piece of sheet metal to hold the tach on the bracket, and another tape to the leg shield. The Spree may be more challenging, but the light weight of these units doesn't challenge 3M's fine adhesive technology very much. So far at least, it hasn't fallen off.

I have a couple of those cheap black TACHS. They work pretty well, especially for what they cost me.

I got it mounted with some double sided tape and one screw/nut, trimmed the plastic on the right side. I wanted to keep the tach in my line of sight so next to the speedo was the best option.
