Cool, you you have a lathe? Very handy for these scooter projects.

Hi tyler.
you always have something interesting going on. :nerd:
I don't thing it makes much of a difference in speed? for the flywheel.
do you think you can give that one a test run? before you cut the other one? :imo:

I have the before weight written down, I weighed it a couple times during the lightening but didn't bother to weigh it after I hit magnet. I have another flywheel on order, I'll get the weights when I try it again.

I have a friend who owns one, so time it limited and so are my lathe skills. I'm just a hobbyist but have done a few small projects using a lathe in the past.

The theory behind lightening flywheels is less rotational mass. It's a popular mod in the ruckus community, most say it helps with acceleration. With a lightened flywheel the engine can rev up easier but also revs down easier which could effect the variator. I might have to offset with heavier roller weights if it messes with my top speed.

I would be too scared try this failed flywheel, it could grenade. :nervous:

I'm trying a clutch mod by putting a shim washer behind the contra spring. I feel a little difference and I like it :D , maybe I'll shim more someday.

That washer is a cheap way to get a little more bottom end :-) looks good to me

Finally did another lightened flywheel for the ch80, took this pic while swapping them out. It made my acceleration a little better, seems easier to hit higher rpm. Not a bad mod, I've put about 100 miles on the road with it and planning on leaving it on.

I tried out a spare aero 125 shock, the overall strut length is longer than a ch80 shock but the spring is shorter. It road lower after I put my weight on, it had a softer ride but I didn't really like it so I switched back to the ch80 shock.

I've been looking into carb options for the ch80 again, not much available for the flange size I need. So I'm converting to spigot carb mounting by modding another intake manifold.

Started chopping the flange off, then dremeling it down to size.
