Greetings:

Hi Cubic Bradonium!

The 669 slings out further toward the rim of that bigger back pulley, so the take-off drive ratio is like a shorter gear. However the front pulley needs to be bigger, or else the Overdrive wont be as tall. I figured the 660 would split the difference, but I'll try my 654. Have at least 1 methinks, but thanks for the offer.

Greetings:

Ms Wheelperson ran out of chores for me to do, so spent a pleasant morning in new Donmesswit garage. We're awash in Arctic air and drizzle, not sweating for a change. OK, it's 47F., but that's chilly for Coastal Tejas.

Anyhow, I regret that I can't recall the Forumista's name, but unlike me he paid attention in Geometry class and crafted the sheetmetal cowl scoop that has adorned Flash's starboard side for a couple of years or more. The trouble was the sharp Galvanized edge that has threatened to slice my posterior artery on several occasions.

Granted this is a trivial pursuit, but sometimes little things can please.

Greetings:

I haven't had much time to ride of late, much less under "Optimal" conditions. More speed boasts come from downwind than from upwind runs, if you know what I mean. Singularly lacking in hills, South Texas has also been short on wind, at least on the days I can ride. Still, 66 or so ain't too shabby, and the Malossi has proven to be as reliable as the Polini Corsa was. I still believe my current 28mm carb is too big for a 72 unless I can coax a whole lot more RPM out of this setup. It seems to deliver its best thrust at about 9500, and 7/8 throttle pulls harder than Wide Open.

hi wheelman. I like the idea of going 72mph on a 72cc kit. 66 is very good. and that is fine . I rooting for you. I don't think you need a hill to see more speed. just a little wind on your side. and the old trans setup you had. the one with the longer belt. yes. your setup is fine, but Honda-sun factory setup is better for street use. I think that's what your missing for more top end speed. your factory setup and belt.
I can go 57. 50-55 all day, with a polini contesta, stock sr pipe(no washer), stock carb with 95 jet, 9 to1 gears, a speed variator from ebay (chopchop), stock belt, stock rear pully and springs, 93 pump gas.
Honda-sun made a good setup. just add power like a BBK and gears. you have that. I thinks your belt, and maybe the pully is the factor in your setup. I'm just trying to help with some input. I'm going through the same thing. if the roads ever dry up for more testing. :thumbwink:
