$20.00 Craigslist 199??? Honda Tact Build

I found a 199? Honda Tact on craigs list . It,s very similar to a Aero and some parts can be swapped .
Which helped a lot but there are also a lot of slight differences which can be a real mess.
The ad said pair of mopeds - $100 as soon as I saw it I knew one was a Honda I went down and met with the seller
and said I was not interested in the Chineese scoot and how much for just the Honda he said how about $20.00
Done deal ....
Here,s what happened next .

Next get it home .

Before I went any farther I wanted to see if it would run .
Rather than doing a bunch of work on a scoot that didn,t run .
Took less than 20 min. sprayed some starting fluid in the carb
put in a battery , tried the elect. starter click click tried the kick start
once, twice , waaaaaah bam bamm waaaaaahh
Clouds and clouds of white smoke just pouring out ...Waaaah waaaaaah
kept running it after a while the white smoke diminished .
I was a happy guy ...

Next started on the cosmetics

Lucked out the original seat had a OK seat cover ,
Which had screws holding it on .

Plastics total mess looked like 5 different coats of paint silver / gold / white / black / thick blue

Still more work on plastics sand / bondo / sand / bondo / primer / sand / sand ...

A lot of the screw inserts on the front were cracked or broken
I used some clothes pins and plastic glue then bailing wire to hold it together
while it set .

Then started doing some cleaning up .
Used every type of de-greeser I had then scraping then wire brush .
Then Grey paint .

Could not find an air cleaner cover anywhere .
It seemed to run OK w/o one so I thought I could make my own .
Used the plastic from a re cycle bin .
