added metropolitan rims
will need to re gps
but I think the added rotational mass slowed up the top end of the moped

metropolitan brake arm is longer and fits the elite hub
made the brake lever move more to apply brakes
but the force needed to apply the brakes is a little less

and the cable pull is straighter with the metropolitan brake arm ?
see the white rim the cable goes upward

Have you tried using a heavier clutch bell also? My bikes with the malossi wing bell seem to maintain that higher speed easier.

right now it has a polini stock replacement bell
and a 3 shoe polini adjustable clutch
from the spare parts I have
if I get extra money I may try a winged bell

for future refrence 1017 miles on it now

swimmingfree
remember this is stock bore motor
9to1 gears , polini variator,, 2,000 clutch springs in stock clutch < took off the polini clutch I had on it
polini reeds, ported stock intake , 51.1 mph

I did try my PG short last summer
didn't GPS
with the PG it had no bottom end
you probally get run over up 20 mph it was that slow taking off
but after 20mph it took off really good
just wasn't ride able with the pg exhaust on it
tried messing with springs rollers ect
couldn't get it to take off

so the stock went back on
cruises good at 40 mph
the last long ride I went on it got 102MPG
1432 miles one it now

more to come ?

What will the 9.1 gears do? More take off or more top end? I'm 200 pounds. I just bought a none running 2001 elite s. Has no compression. Would be real happy if I could get mine to run anywhere near yours. Not sure if I should just replace piston and rings or upsize. I don't want to spend a lot of money on it.

the gears will give a little more top end
\
derestricting it with stock gears it did 46.8
put the gears in it did 50.6

really think about what you want out of your scooter
you don't want to spend money twice

there is a big difference in acceleration and top speed from stock to modded scooter
this scooter runs good but it is a slug compaired to my purple elite
but still enjoyable to ride

I have a met hub; the kind with two brake cables. Im gonna pull off one of those levers and give it a shot. That straighter cable probably returns to home position better than its shorter counterpart.
