Good job, and thanks for pics of the prior exhaust repair. I will make a 'hall of shame' for stuff like that :)

Yeah,

When I saw that I was thrilled to see somebody trying to fix it. Then felt like a genius when I explained to my wife, why it failed. She walked away...

Nice exhaust repair, I know how thin the ch80 header pipe is and how easy it is to burn through welding. It's too bad there's no exhaust replacement options.

Yeah, I was searching for one. I guess the was a company that was making them but stopped. I think it was called battle scooter or something like that.

They make exhaust power tips for them, only thing it does is remove the inner baffle and put a shiny tip on it. Makes it loud and lean.

Back at it,

I saw this pipe laying out again and decided I will take it apart a bit. I want to make my own baffles to quiet this down a little. The gears are turning. I will keep the photos coming as I get this going.

Disclaimer:

This is not a restoration, its going to be a ratrod. I am not into the storm-trooper look of these. But love the way they run. This poor thing must have been left outside for years, I think I paid 250.00 for it. The exhaust is extremely quiet at idle and has some growl to it when accelerating. Very happy with the DIY silencer.
