UPDATE TIME!! Over the last few months I have been working away to get this DJ1 ready to complete the Tranz Alpine Scooter Safari, a charity ride which goes from Christchurch which is on the East Coast of the South Island where I live, to Hokitikia on the West Coast of the South Island of New Zealand. we did it on the 10th of September. Its a distance of around 155 miles or 250 kilometers for us metric users, which may not sound like much but it contained alot of mountain riding as we had to cross a mountain range called the Southern Alps that divides the East and West Coast. Lots of steep roads!!

Thanks to help from Paulypaul this bike had a well tuned AF05E engine which among many things he knows and ive forgotten has been:
Ported
New Bearings and seals
21mm OKO carb and mani
etc etc etc (im not too familiar on the specs all I know is that it conquered all the mountain roads and went hard!!)

The bike also had a rear suspension shock and spring set my other friend on here NZHonda bought from Scooter Swap shop that did not fit for his Honda Dio but fitted perfectly into this bike!! Man what a difference it made to the handling!!

Along with freshly powdercoated wheels and a brand new set of Pirelli tyres, which handled really well, the bike was set mechanically to conquer all!

I havent had the time to get the set of plastics I had aside for this bike painted yet so I stole the plastics from my other DJ1 to make it legal and ready to go! Eventually Il either switch them back or use another set for the other bike I intend to keep.

I shall also post up some pictures.

This is taken with my Yamaha V50 which I lent to a guy who couldnt get his bike to the ride so he could finish it too!

Great to see this back on the streets! Love the black and white scheme. What type of speed are you reaching with the new carb setup?

I have been reaching speeds of around 45-50 mph with the new motor. And its a lot quicker to get there too!
