Re: Whitey's stroker

I started out with a 26mm dellorto and CT intake. I wanted to see what that would do before switching to the big black intake and a 28mm dellorto. I also started with a .5 base gasket and .5 head gasket which gave me 1.3mm squish. Later I removed the head gasket hoping to push the heat out the exhaust with a .8 squish but that didn't do it either. I have a super short lawn mower spark plug in there right now with a 8 heat range. I just put that in because I keep bending plugs when I land a wheelie because my seat hits the plug and boot. I was around 200psi compression with no head gasket and around 120 with 3 gaskets. I don't have a bigger carb to try.

I don't think the del is doing you justice. The del is more for 94cc mina set ups than 129cc vert dio.

I also would use a 9 heat range plug.

I think you should defenetly change that carb , im runing a mikuni tmx 34 or 35 mm not too sure , pulled it off an old 98 yz 125 motor i had laying around . But im at 400 main jet on a 55mm bore with a * up fan shroud which is hanging off the motor lol and my temps dont pass 360, and i beat on that thing all day when im riding with friends and it seems to stay cool i am runing a 9 plug i believe . Id have to check again

I dont know about the larger carb. I believe you and am not trying to call anyone out, but the CT is only 26mm so it seems to me thats the max effective carb. Whitey just installed a big CT, but then we have to move to the next bottleneck which is the windows. I dont know what that total flow through that is.

I'm going to borrow a friends 32mm mikuni and see how that does. It's a flange mount so I'll have to make it fit.

It's my 56mm air cooled cylinder with just the head from my new 55mm round kit. The water flows out of the bottom of the radiator on the left side, through the pump, into the head and out on the right side, then up to the top of the radiator on the right. I'm waiting on a coolant catch bottle to complete the system. I'm hitting 220 degrees at my head and my rad is warm to the touch. I can now get to tuning my trans. I'm using the air cooled cylinder mostly because it's already ported.

There we go!! Having different options with big stroker builds. Liquid cool seems to be the way to go when going over 120cc. Nice progress man!

Well, locked her up tight on the way to work today. Guess I'll have to port the 55mm LC cylinder. My trail tech spark plug sensor was showing 275 or so when she had enough. The bore must not be dumping enough heat into the LC head. Hopefully there isn't any garbage in the crank. The pump seems weak also. I have a Bosch pump I'll use.
