The initial paint was a blue metallic speck paint from autozone. The problem was that gas would destroy it instantly. This is the VHT engine enamel thats supposed to be more tolerant to chemicals and wear.
I read to bake it for 20 mins at 200 degrees. Not sure if the plastics would like that. Thoughts?

Oh, and btw I got the idea for this color while driving the other day. I saw a new (er) Toyota Camry on the highway painted near this color and really liked it.

Greetings:

Blue is pretty fast; the color of lightning after all. Nice look on the plastics. Bake at 170, but longer.

I guess technically red would be the fastest color as its wavelength is the shortest. I believe blue is one of the longer spectrums....

Ive hit 14k on my slightly ported corsa but power stopped at about 11200 .It started makeing and horrible popping type sound at 14k rpm.I asked around and our friend LMH informed me that it was the port timing overlaping its self in other words i out reved the cylinder beyond what its capable of doing .oh and i have a early model scorpion pipe i bought from TRU72 .

I had that horrible popping sound with my setup and stock gears.

Purplenurple, if you pull the stock yellowish dash bulbs, you can bring them to autozone or pep boys... whatever has a match and get blue or other color bulbs to fit in their spot. its a cheap mod that looks pretty killer at night.

graphite9 wrote:Sweet! Pauly you must have some special lucky corsa. I could only hit 12,700 on the dyno, no wind resistance, on a heavily ported corsa, on 110, with a pipe that hits 1800rpm higher than the scorp. The scorpion peaks at about 8500. Its lower than you'd think. The scorpion, is designed for taiwan bores, as over in the phillipines, they dont run italian stuff.
wow i didn't know scorpion makes peak power at 8500. good to know.

Yes codename47 the pin guides are not fully used. When the rear pulleys are all the way together , there is still more pin guide travel to be had. When its fully open, the pin slots stop the torque driver JUST before it would hit the clutch.
